Your Faith

It is that characteristic in all of us that enables us to believe and we all do; otherwise we would not dare to get up in the morning. Everybody believes in something. When it meets with our needs, it becomes a principle by which we live. Hence, we have good and bad principles.

As for me, I cannot imagine any human ingenuity that can produce a system that can operate the universe. I cannot even imagine any one intelligent enough to produce the simplest form of life. And, yes, I cannot imagine how I could possibly live without oxygen.

Faith to me is as necessary as the air I breathe, and that air comes from God who is Spirit (Jn. 4: ); He also is the breath of life (Gen. ). Without faith I cannot live nor please my Maker (Heb. ). I am no accident neither is the world. Accidents disable and destroy, and they do not create or improve. I know I have been in one; but my faith has guided me beyond my circumstances. I simply cannot trust the universe or my life to mere chance. "In Him we live, move and have our being," (Ac.). No one is outside the dimensions of God (Ps.).

Grace, what role does it play?

Contrary to popular belief, it is not an outright free grant; rather it is like a gift in reserve that has to be claimed. It has a shipping charge attached to it that I have to pay for it before I can claim it. It is a gift of God and it is like a certificate that secures salvation. The certificate has been purchased by Jesus the Christ; but before the recipients can claim it thy must undergo specific preparations. Even the best of them must be born again or repent and amend their lives. No unclean or unholy recipient shall be admitted. Everyone must be clothed in the wedding garments of Christ and provide evidence of a productive faith (  ). The recipients are identified by their fruit and not by their lip-service ( ).

The Holy Spirit, Who is He and what does He do?

First, He is part of and represents God. God Himself is Spirit ( ).

Second, He represents Christ and His mission. Hence, all the New Testament witnesses were motivated by the Holy Spirit and their writings became Holy Writ ( ).

Third, He discloses all sins and unrighteousness ( ).

Fourth, He desires to make clean humans His dwelling place ( ).

And Fifth, He desires to guide humans into what is true and avoid what is false ( ). The rule of the thumb is this: any unholy thought, word or even intention is not of the Holy Spirit. That is how we can discern whether the spirit is of God ( ).
